Its work includes the Moody Center, the University of Texas South End Zone, PGA of America in Frisco and the University of Texas Hall of Fame. General contractors and architects get engineering, finishing and installation from one team.
What has Dovetail built at the Moody Center?
Dovetail's work reached five levels of the venue. The Event Level has the Establishment Club, with bars, buffets, a hostess stand, trim, column wraps and brass shelving. The 100 Main Concourse has the Sideline Clubs North and South, a private lounge and concession bars. The 200 Suite Level has porch and sideline suite cabinets, drink rails, and loge bars and buffets. The 300 Upper Concourse has bar and concession counters with their ceilings. Point-of-sale stations, pour stations and restroom vanity frames were released separately.
How did Dovetail organize the University of Texas South End Zone?
For the Founders Suites and Founders Lounge, Dovetail made bars, drink rails, buffet and media casework, TV stands, show cooking counters and a vent hood. It also built the Burnt Orange Club, the field-level Bevo Club, loge seating casework and the Moncrief team areas, including locker rooms, nutrition stations and rehab rooms. Drafting dates from June 2021, and installation ran from 2021 into 2022, split into area packages.
Does Dovetail build for golf and exhibit spaces too?
Yes. At PGA of America in Frisco, Dovetail built wall paneling in metal and wood across a gallery wall, hallway, vestibule and seminar rooms, with casework listed for more than 50 rooms and areas, including the hitting bays and a putting green skirt. At the University of Texas Hall of Fame, Dovetail built the wood display cases in the exhibit space.
How does Dovetail prove details before production?
Venue work has many repeating parts, so Dovetail builds samples first. The Moody Center included many finish samples, a point-of-sale mockup and a metal corner mockup. At the South End Zone, the shop built a Founders Lounge TV stand mockup, ran bracket tests and submitted many finish samples. PGA of America included a panel mockup, perforated metal panel mockups and several metal samples before production.
