Dovetail fabricated the architectural millwork, metalwork and stone for PGA of America, a sports project in Frisco, Texas, built by general contractor Adolfson & Peterson Construction with architect Page Southerland Page. Change-order and remake work continued through early 2023.
What did Dovetail build at PGA of America?
Most of the visible work is wall paneling in metal and wood. The paneling is split among a gallery wall, a hallway, a vestibule, the seminar rooms and the huddle and conference rooms, each done in both metal and wood. The reception desk and the putting green each have a skirt in metal and wood, and a flat bar detail was cut for the hitting bays.
The product list names more than 50 rooms and areas of casework, including reception, a warm pantry, a green room, a locker room, a break room, a hospitality bar and the hitting bays. Stone countertops and shower surrounds are listed separately.
Materials and finishes
Metal work covers brake-formed and plasma-cut pieces, perforated metal panels and a blackened patina sample. The casework is plastic laminate and wood veneer, with hardwood poplar named for bench tops and counters.
How was the work delivered?
Panels were proven before production. The work included a panel mockup for hall 128, perforated metal panel mockups, several metal samples and a remake of a metal sample. Later, remakes, reveal strips, a seminar room change order and a metal flat strap change order were each handled as separate pieces of work.
