What did Dovetail build at St. Edward’s University?
Dovetail's scope here is wood millwork and stone. The gallery shows two kinds of room. In the presentation room, a faceted wood ceiling sits over rows of white chairs, and the walls have a stone wainscot. In the lounge, a stone-faced wall meets a wood slat panel, with a long blue banquette and a wood-framed opening nearby. A stone reception counter sits inside a wood frame under a wood-framed soffit. A wood-framed doorway stands beside a blue bench, and arched windows appear in one of the lounge views.

The project page lists two materials, wood and stone. In the photographs the wood shows up as the faceted ceiling, the slat panel, the door and opening frames and the soffit frame. The stone shows up as the wainscot, the lounge wall facing and the reception counter.

Hill & Wilkinson was the general contractor and Baldridge Architects designed the project. Dovetail's stone shop uses digital templating and Slabsmith vein matching. Dovetail's wood work includes cabinetry, wall paneling, ceilings and furniture.
